A team of Rhodes Scholar students have raised £700 in their bid to climb three of the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales in aid of Restore.

The team of 18 Rhodes Scholars from many different countries currently studying in Oxford and 8 supportive friends managed the audacious feet in under 24 hours. The team started walking at 6pm on Saturday 8 June and finished the final peak by 6pm on Sunday 9 June. They were raising money for three Oxfordshire charities, including Restore.

Recounting the original aim of their project Helen Jack (New Hampshire & Pembroke 2012) said: “The Three Peaks Challenge is an incredible opportunity to experience more of the country, give back to my local community, and break out of the ‘Oxford bubble’ for a bit.”

The team said that the best times while hiking the Three Peaks Challenge included running through the sunshine up Snowdon (the last peak), singing along to music on the long, long car rides through the British countryside, and ‘hanging out’ in the snow at the top of Ben Nevis, and seeing the sun start to set.
