Representatives from Community Health Partnerships (CHP), head tenant and property managers of East Oxford Health Centre, together with its NHS provider tenants presented Oxfordshire mental health charity, Restore, with over £280 raised from its recent celebrations for the NHS’s 70th birthday.

Lesley Dewhurst, Chief Executive of Restore said: ““Restore are delighted to be such close neighbours to East Oxford Health Centre and for our Garden Cafe to be so enjoyed by staff there. It put a smile on many faces at Restore when we received this cheque from our neighbours. We’re just celebrating our 40th birthday, so we’ve got many years to go before we can match 70 years of the wonderful NHS, and we’re delighted that this money was raised at an NHS 70th birthday party. As a local charity we depend on the support and goodness of others to carry on the life-changing mental health recovery, coaching, and training work that we’ve been doing for 40 years. We want to do so much more and this donation will enable us to do just that.”

Gary Gibson, CHP’s Tenant Liaison Manager at East Oxford Health Centre said: “It was a privilege to be able to support our neighbours with the funds raised at our NHS 7Tea party.  When I asked health centre staff which cause they wanted to donate to the overwhelming response was Restore.  Together with my tenants, I am delighted to present Lesley with the money donated by the health centre’s staff, patients and visitors.  A genuine act of community spirit!”

CHP hosted a tea party at East Oxford Health Centre in July to celebrate the NHS 70th birthday. Tenants of East Oxford Health Centre include Children and Adolescence services provided by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, Bartlemas Practice and Cowley Road Medical Practice.
