Our cafés are run by our service users  and aim to lessen stigma and discrimination around mental ill health.

You will support and empower our members to run our thriving café on the Cowley Road. This could involve working with members in areas such as customer service, menu planning and preparation, baking and other catering duties. No catering or customer service experience is required. You will receive full training.

Time commitment:  We ask for at least one day a week between 9am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday.

Training: Café Volunteers must complete Introduction to Volunteer training and Mental Health First Aid training. See upcoming training dates here.

More information about the Garden Cafe

Littlemore Recovery Group comprises a small shop and café in the grounds of Littlemore Mental Health Centre which serves patients, staff and the local community. Our members are primarily forensic patients who live at the Mental Health Centre and who wish to develop their skills in catering, customer service and team work as part of their recovery from severe and/or enduring mental health problems.

Volunteers at Littlemore Recovery Group will work alongside members in varied activities in the shop and café, helping to build their confidence as they move towards paid or voluntary work in the community. This might include supporting members with activities such as baking and cooking, serving customers, till work, cleaning and administrative tasks.

Time commitment: We ask for at least one day a week between 9am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday.
