Going to Bunkfest? Support Restore while you're there @ Kinecroft Wallingford

Bunkfest is a FREE, family-friendly music festival set in picturesque grounds in the centre of Wallingford.

Restore is running a stall at the event selling produce and crafts grown and made by our Fleet Meadow recovery centre.

We will be at Bunkfest this Saturday and Sunday. Come and see the wonderful work of our Fleet Meadow recovery group – we’ll be selling some of the necklaces and tie-died products that they have made as well as showcasing other produce grown at Fleet Meadow. Meet the team, have some fun and listen to some great music.

Can you think of a better way to spend a weekend? No, nor can we! We look forward to seeing you there.

Bridewell Organic Gardens - Friday 14th September - Community afternoon @ Bridewell Organic Gardens | North Leigh | England | United Kingdom

Our sister organisation, Bridewell Organic Gardens, is  holding a community afternoon, welcoming the public to their  walled garden and vineyard.

Take the opportunity to see this beautiful place and to buy their produce; eggs, fruit, vegetables, jams, jellies and chutneys. Lots of plants are for sale, lovingly nurtured in our greenhouses. You can also join a free guided tour of the gardens, given by Ian Gourlay who has been a team member at Bridewell for many years so can give a wonderful history of the project and how we work.

And it seems that no one can resist our famous teas; tables are set up in the garden for you to enjoy homemade sponges, chocolate cakes, fruit slices and of course scones with cream and Bridewell jam.

It will be an idyllic afternoon in beautiful surroundings. Don’t miss it!

Intrepid runners, cyclists and kayakers raising funds for the Oxfordshire Recovery College @ Starts at Manzil Way | England | United Kingdom

Staff members and volunteers at the Oxfordshire Recovery College will be undertaking a triathlon between Oxford and Abingdon on Saturday 15th September. They are looking to raise funds so that they can offer more places on their courses to people who otherwise might not be able to afford to attend. One place for one day costs £25, unless you are accessing mental health services, in which case, a place is free. They are looking for donations of anything from £5 to £100 to be made to their fundraising page here

Starting at Manzil Way around 8am, Tony Duffin and Megan Ronan will run to Abingdon.
From around 10am, Tony will then cycle back to Oxford with Rich Ronan Liam Corbally with others joining them.
Starting somewhere between 11 and 12, Tony will then kayak from Oxford (Donnington Bridge) to Abingdon with Annie Lawson, Gerard Hoen and Katie de Bertrand

Oxfordshire Recovery College is part of Restore. At the Oxfordshire Recovery College, we believe that learning about our mental health can give us hope for the future, opportunities to make changes, and a larger amount of control over what’s happening to us or our loved ones. Because of this, we provide a wide range of courses all about mental health and wellbeing, and regular one-to-one Individual Learning Plan appointments to help you move forward.

Please donate to fund their important work, enabling the people of Oxfordshire to engage with their recovery and to build positive lessons learned on the courses into their daily lives.

Calling all runners! Your training starts here… @ Starts at Broad Street

Looking to get fit?

And raise funds for Restore?

We have charity places available for people looking to run Oxford Half Marathon on 7th October 2018. All we ask in return is that you raise over £150 for Restore. We give advice on how to do this, taking into account  what suits you and how you wish to promote your run in order to raise as much money as you can. All you need to do is to e-mail fundraising@restore.org.uk and we will arrange for you to receive an email from the organisers registering you as a runner on behalf of Restore.

We also advise you on how best to fund-raise. It’s not as hard as you might think. On one of our recent charity bike rides, our 8 riders raised over £3,000, which is nearly £400 per rider. But if you raise less than that, fine…don’t worry. But we’d love to raise more…

Go for it…we know you want to!

Writer, singer and Restore patron, Emily Maguire, to perform poetry and songs at Restore on Saturday 10th November! @ Restore Garden Cafe | England | United Kingdom

SINGER, songwriter, composer, poet, multi-instrumentalist, and Restore patron Emily Maguire is coming to Manzil Way as part of an extensive UK tour, and tickets are available!
Emily’s heartfelt, thought-provoking lyrics, emotive voice, many albums, and spellbinding live performances have won her fans across the globe, none more so than here in Oxfordshire.
With a remarkable story of recovery to tell, Emily has been interviewed many times on Radio 2 and Radio 4 including ‘Midweek’ with Libby Purves. A breakdown at 16, diagnosed as acute clinical depression combined with a car crash that same year brought on a condition known as FMS (fibromyalgia pain syndrome), causing constant pain.

“I started writing songs and the illness suddenly became a complete blessing in disguise as I had all this time on my hands to write”, Emily says.
Emily can’t wait to be touring again and she’s looking forward to promoting her new poetry book ‘Meditation Mind’ and playing songs on acoustic guitar accompanied by her husband on double-bass. There will be a short Q&A at the end. Every penny goes directly to Restore.
Emily’s performance starts at 7.00pm at Restore on Manzil Way, Cowley Road, Oxford, and tickets (£11.25 including a booking fee) are available by clicking on https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/emily-maguire-restore-meditation-mind-tour-tickets-49804548746

Moonrakers concert at Richard Benson Hall @ richard benson hall | England | United Kingdom

Moonrakers is an Oxford-based group of four musicians, some from the classical and some from the folk tradition. The fact that the band “just OOZES quality” (Living Tradition) is down to the careful arrangements and selection of tunes and songs, presenting “exquisite music” (BBC). Now with five albums under their belt and described as “startlingly talented” (Oxford Times), Moonrakers provide “truly wonderful” (Wycombe Festival) informal evenings of musical excellence and humour.

The choice of material is largely from the Irish, Scottish, Welsh and English traditions, reflecting a love of traditional and contemporary tunes and songs ‘in the idiom’.

All proceeds from ticket sales are going to support Restore
