Lord Mayor to open Littlemore Gardens

Open-Day-Flyer-2014-231x300

The Lord Mayor of Oxford, Mohammed Abassi, will open a new therapeutic garden at Littlemore Recovery Group on 25th June. The benefits of gardening for mental health and wellbeing are well documented, and the garden will give members opportunities to recover and develop skills through physical activity in a calm environment.

Restore began as a one-acre vegetable patch at the old Littlemore site in 1977 and has since flourished across Oxfordshire. We returned to our roots over a year ago, opening the Littlemore Lounge café and shop run by members. The group are excited to introduce a garden once again.

The official garden opening will take place at Littlemore Recovery Group’s Summer Event. There will be live music, a BBQ and world-cup themed activities from 10am to 2pm at Littlemore Mental Health Centre. Entry to the event is free and all are welcome.

Restore are incredibly grateful to Lord Mayor Abassi, who has kindly chosen Restore as one of two Lord Mayor’s Charities during his time in office.
