Going to Bunkfest? Support Restore while you're there @ Kinecroft Wallingford

Bunkfest is a FREE, family-friendly music festival set in picturesque grounds in the centre of Wallingford.

Restore is running a stall at the event selling produce and crafts grown and made by our Fleet Meadow recovery centre.

We will be at Bunkfest this Saturday and Sunday. Come and see the wonderful work of our Fleet Meadow recovery group – we’ll be selling some of the necklaces and tie-died products that they have made as well as showcasing other produce grown at Fleet Meadow. Meet the team, have some fun and listen to some great music.

Can you think of a better way to spend a weekend? No, nor can we! We look forward to seeing you there.

Bridewell Organic Gardens - Friday 14th September - Community afternoon @ Bridewell Organic Gardens | North Leigh | England | United Kingdom

Our sister organisation, Bridewell Organic Gardens, is  holding a community afternoon, welcoming the public to their  walled garden and vineyard.

Take the opportunity to see this beautiful place and to buy their produce; eggs, fruit, vegetables, jams, jellies and chutneys. Lots of plants are for sale, lovingly nurtured in our greenhouses. You can also join a free guided tour of the gardens, given by Ian Gourlay who has been a team member at Bridewell for many years so can give a wonderful history of the project and how we work.

And it seems that no one can resist our famous teas; tables are set up in the garden for you to enjoy homemade sponges, chocolate cakes, fruit slices and of course scones with cream and Bridewell jam.

It will be an idyllic afternoon in beautiful surroundings. Don’t miss it!

Writer, singer and Restore patron, Emily Maguire, to perform poetry and songs at Restore on Saturday 10th November! @ Restore Garden Cafe | England | United Kingdom

SINGER, songwriter, composer, poet, multi-instrumentalist, and Restore patron Emily Maguire is coming to Manzil Way as part of an extensive UK tour, and tickets are available!
Emily’s heartfelt, thought-provoking lyrics, emotive voice, many albums, and spellbinding live performances have won her fans across the globe, none more so than here in Oxfordshire.
With a remarkable story of recovery to tell, Emily has been interviewed many times on Radio 2 and Radio 4 including ‘Midweek’ with Libby Purves. A breakdown at 16, diagnosed as acute clinical depression combined with a car crash that same year brought on a condition known as FMS (fibromyalgia pain syndrome), causing constant pain.

“I started writing songs and the illness suddenly became a complete blessing in disguise as I had all this time on my hands to write”, Emily says.
Emily can’t wait to be touring again and she’s looking forward to promoting her new poetry book ‘Meditation Mind’ and playing songs on acoustic guitar accompanied by her husband on double-bass. There will be a short Q&A at the end. Every penny goes directly to Restore.
Emily’s performance starts at 7.00pm at Restore on Manzil Way, Cowley Road, Oxford, and tickets (£11.25 including a booking fee) are available by clicking on https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/emily-maguire-restore-meditation-mind-tour-tickets-49804548746

Moonrakers concert at Richard Benson Hall @ richard benson hall | England | United Kingdom

Moonrakers is an Oxford-based group of four musicians, some from the classical and some from the folk tradition. The fact that the band “just OOZES quality” (Living Tradition) is down to the careful arrangements and selection of tunes and songs, presenting “exquisite music” (BBC). Now with five albums under their belt and described as “startlingly talented” (Oxford Times), Moonrakers provide “truly wonderful” (Wycombe Festival) informal evenings of musical excellence and humour.

The choice of material is largely from the Irish, Scottish, Welsh and English traditions, reflecting a love of traditional and contemporary tunes and songs ‘in the idiom’.

All proceeds from ticket sales are going to support Restore

Lights, camera, Auction of Promises...with Jeremy Irons @ St Hugh's College

We’re thrilled to announce that Hollywood star Jeremy Irons will be bringing the hammer down on a wide range of money-spinning lots. The University of Oxford college, St Hugh’s, will be our hosts for an elegant evening at Restore’s largest fundraiser of the year.

There will be at least 50 auction lots for sale. They have been generously donated by local people and businesses. All sale proceeds will go to fund Restore’s valuable work which helped just under 1,000 people last year with their recovery from mental ill health.

Our fantastic promises include … two tickets for an England Six Nations rugby international, two tickets for the WOMAD music festival, two return rail tickets anywhere on the GWR network, a week in Tuscany and many more. Full details of the lots as at 19th February can be seen here . Take a look, there are some amazing  items to bid for. If you’re not able to come along to the auction, you can lodge a bid beforehand. Email fundraising@restore.org.uk with your bid.

Buy your ticket now! You’ve got to be in it to win it for some fantastic experiences and items. And tickets are limited.

Included in the ticket price will be canapés made by celebrity chef Sophie Grigson and a complementary glass of wine. Also the chance to mingle and grab a selfie with our guest auctioneer Jeremy Irons.

We’re looking forward to a brilliant night out. Restore is a fantastic cause. And we can guarantee you that you’ll have fun. You may even go home with a stellar auction lot.

Raise funds for Restore by riding your bike @ Oxford University Rugby Club
May 19 all-day

We had so much fun at this event in 2018.

Our 8 riders (we call them the ‘magnificent eight’) raised just over £3,000 which is equivalent to £375 per rider. This was a marvellous achievement, which we are determined to better in 2019.

Are you interested? You set off from the beautiful Oxfordshire University Rugby Club  on either the 25 mile, 50 or 80 mile routes around Oxfordshire. The routes are clearly signposted and there’s no pressure in terms of the pace that you’re required to ride at.

All we ask is that in return for free entry paid by us, you raise at least £250 in sponsorship from your friends and family. We give you advice and support with raising the funds and setting up your fundraising pages.

Please don’t hesitate. It’s a fun way to raise funds for us and a great way for you to get fit.

Give it a go! For more details, please contact henry.richardson@restore.org.uk or call 01865 455822
