Saturday 22nd April is Didcot Town FC’s last home game of the season with a share of proceeds going to charity partner, Oxfordshire mental health charity, Restore.

Restore are The Railwaymen’s chosen charity, working locally in Didcot and wider Oxfordshire, to help hundreds of individuals with severe mental ill health to rebuild confidence, develop skills and gain employment, volunteering or training.

This fixture against Waltham Abbey at ‘The Loop’ is set to be an exciting match with a large crowd. Activities, ticket proceeds and sponsors, including Smeg Uk, are set to raise funds for Restore and support better mental health locally.

Didcot Town FC’s Manager, Jamie Heapy said “Restore makes a great impact, supporting individuals towards recovery and brighter futures with skill development and new connections. We all know that mental health needs to be spoken about more. And what better way than to raise awareness and funds for Restore in the last game of the season! The team needs just two points to reach the playoffs and they can’t wait to put their best foot forward and champion a cause close to their hearts.”

Matt Jerwood, Restore’s Head of Fundraising and Communications says, “Didcot Town FC have been great supporters of better mental health, both on and off the pitch. Physical and mental health are intrinsically linked, and the social side of football is also a hugely positive factor for wellbeing. We very much look forward to continuing to work with The Railwaymen beyond the season and supporting the Didcot community in our nearby recovery group in Fleet Meadow.”

The Charity Fixture will kick off at 3:00pm at Loop Meadow Stadium, Didcot. Tickets are available for purchase on the turnstile (cash only). Adults £10, Concessions £5, Under 16’s free with a paying adult.
