Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering at Restore. Currently, due to Covid-19 and social distancing requirements, we have had to put a hold on recruiting any more Opportunities Project volunteers. We already have a waiting list of people waiting to start volunteering and so we can’t take any more applications for the Opportunities Project role at present.

Please keep an eye on our website for updates as the situation changes.

When people are admitted to an inpatient acute psychiatric ward they are often unaware of opportunities in the community they can move on to after discharge. This may also include help in supporting them to return to work if they have employment, coaching to find a new job, or recovery groups to gain confidence and experience in a variety of settings.

You will be talking to inpatients on Acute Psychiatric wards and offering people guidance and information about support and services available on discharge. You will be signposting to local organisations or carrying out research for them on areas they would like to explore. You will also be promoting Restore and all the services we can offer as part of the Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership. This is a perfect opportunity for people wanting to gain experience in, or learn about mental health.

Time commitment: 3 hours. You will visit the wards at the Warneford Hospital or Littlemore Mental Health Centre on Tuesday afternoons between 1pm and 2pm and return back to Manzil Way for group supervision of around 30 minutes.

Training: Opportunities Project Volunteers must complete Day 1 Coaching training and 2 day Mental Health First Aid training. Day 2 Coaching training is optional for this role. See upcoming training dates here.
